Les lataniers **** Saint Leu Reunion Island

Tropical garden

Monique and Guy are passionate about botany and have been putting their heart and soul in cultivating this exotic garden for more than 10 years. Trees, tropical flowers, endemic and indigenous plants and a vast collection of succulents such as cacti decorate the garden and bloom throughout the year.

Some species flower during winter (May – November), others during summer (November – April) in the Southern Hemisphere. You will not only notice the beauty and fragility of many plants but also discover the delicate scents of Ylang-Ylang, Madagascar jasmine (Stephanotis floribunda) or yesterday-today-tomorrow (Brunfelsia pauciflora).

Leon … roaming around !

He disappears sometimes

goes into hiding … then reappears

Here are just a few photographs of the flowers in our garden. Don’t hesitate to go to the blog page to look at the pictures of the exotic garden as the seasons change and to discover the abundance of the fauna and flora on Reunion Island.

Quite a few birds of the surrounding islands made our garden their home. When you are having breakfast they will come to your garden, your veranda or your terrace to see if they can snatch some bread crumbs. As soon as the garden is watered the red cardinal fody or the red-whiskered bulbul like to come to take a shower.
